Qalaalti Hotel & Spa
Galaalti Hotel & SPA is a five-star medical and recreational resort complex in Azerbaijan, located in the picturesque village of Galaalti, Shabran District (about 120 km from Baku). The resort is situated at an altitude of 700 meters above sea level at the foot of the Greater Caucasus Mountains, surrounded by dense forests and close to the historic 4th-century Chirag Gala fortress.
💧 “Naftsu” Mineral Water
The resort’s main treasure is its own source of unique therapeutic mineral water called “Naftsu” (Galaalti Naftusya).
- Petroleum origin: The water contains rare organic substances of petroleum origin.
- Fresh consumption only: Due to the rapid evaporation of volatile organic compounds, this water cannot be bottled or transported—it is consumed exclusively fresh directly at the hotel’s modern indoor pump room.
- Electronic control: Guests receive strictly dosed water at the required temperature using individual electronic cards as prescribed by a doctor.
- Medical indications: It effectively helps in treating urolithiasis (promotes the removal of small stones from kidneys and gallbladder), urinary tract diseases, liver, and gastrointestinal tract disorders.
🏥 “Chirag” Medical and SPA Center
The complex features a fully equipped, high-tech medical center offering health programs (typically lasting 7–10 days).
- Specialists: Consultations with urologists, general practitioners, physiotherapists, and neurologists.
- Procedures: Hardware physiotherapy, balneotherapy (therapeutic baths and showers, including Sharko shower), mud therapy, speleotherapy (salt cave), and inhalations.
- SPA zone: Indoor and outdoor swimming pools, Turkish hammam, saunas, massage rooms, and a gym.
🛌 Accommodation and Infrastructure
The resort provides premium conditions for wellness and family vacations:
- Rooms: Around 168 comfortable rooms (Superior and Suite categories in the main building and eco-buildings), as well as 3 luxury standalone villas. The windows offer panoramic views of the Caucasian foothills or the valley leading to the Caspian Sea.
- Dining: The main restaurant, “Manzara,” serves three meals a day buffet-style. The menu focuses on healthy, balanced nutrition, combining Azerbaijani and European cuisines.
- Leisure: Lounge bars, bowling, billiards, sports grounds, a tennis court, a children’s club, and a beautiful terraced park for outdoor walks.
The unique combination of mountain and sea air (the Caspian coast is about a 30-minute drive away) creates a comfortable microclimate with moderate humidity, ideal for year-round recovery.
